Eric Alexander Signs Contract Extension with New England Patriots

Eric Alexander agreed to a one-year contract extension with his current team,
the New England Patriots. Financial details were undisclosed, but sources close
to the negotiation say that it compensates Alexander at the highest percentile
compensation awarded to a specials team player. The agreement also included
a signing bonus, and part of the paragraph five salary is fully guaranteed. It
also has built in playtime escalators which could make Alexander's
compensation escalate to an amount equal to what a starting LB in the NFL
earns.
